Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
If you enter a name, date of birth, or other query into a search tool displayed here, the information is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. San Miguel County Warrant Records does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we may retain the message and its contact details long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. We keep that communication within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers may automatically receive routine technical information each time a visitor loads a page, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is available
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The internet protocol address used by the device
Cookies and Analytics
This website uses cookies, which are small files placed on a device. Together with analytics services, they help us understand traffic in aggregate, such as commonly visited pages and where visits end. You may block cookies through your browser controls, although doing so can change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a submitted query to the appropriate outside search provider
- Maintaining site availability, speed, and operation
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Understanding which pages are useful or need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Warrant Data on File
San Miguel County Warrant Records does not host, maintain, assemble, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant information. It provides general directions to the San Miguel County Sheriff and Jail, the San Miguel Combined Courts Clerk, and the municipal courts that may hold relevant records. Colorado has no official single public statewide warrant-search portal identified in the project research. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes that appear on this website. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention, processing, and disclosure practices, so review those terms before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the San Miguel County Sheriff's Office, Colorado Judicial Branch court resources, municipal offices, legal-aid organizations, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy practices apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select targeted ads. That processing occurs through the providers' systems and policies, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nonetheless be disclosed to the following limited recipients:
- Government or law-enforcement authorities when valid legal process requires disclosure
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process queries submitted through their tools
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards intended to protect information in our possession. No online transmission or storage method is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a data breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning personal data vary with residence and the law that applies. In Colorado, the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, C.R.S. §§ 24-72-301 through 24-72-309, governs access to criminal-justice records, while the Colorado Open Records Act, including C.R.S. § 24-72-203, applies to general public records. Those laws govern the duties of their respective public custodians, not this private website. Subject to applicable law and exceptions, you may:
- Opt out of eligible forms of data processing
- Request deletion of qualifying personal data
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Request access to qualifying information held about you
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this privacy policy from time to time. Any revised policy will be posted here, and the effective date will be updated to show when the new version applies.
